About Me

I’m Matias Corea a designer currently based in New York City. I’m the Co-Founder and Chief Designer of Behance, a company dedicated to organizing the creative world to make ideas happen. As the company’s founding designer, I have led the brand identity and design of all Behance products, including the Behance Network, the 99% Magazine & conference, and Action Method, amongst other products.

I was born and raised in Barcelona. I graduated in Graphic Design from La Massana Art School in Barcelona. In my early years I was very influenced by the omnipresence of electronic music in Barcelona. Working with multiple DJs and clubs I found a canvass to explore the boundaries of graphic design and expression but always aware of the crucial importance of the communicational aspect of design. While in School I worked at my father’s architecture studio space where I developed my love for architecture. This influenced me strongly and brought an inherent order to my work and a newer passion for information organization.

My geeky passion for organizing information found his home at Behance where I continue to explore user interface, user experience, web design and from time to time print design.

My work has earned a Type Director’s Award and several Webby nominations and honoree awards, as well as distinction as a finalist at the SXSW Interactive Awards for two years running.
